THE GIST:

• Tap an icon on screen to activate the camera and snap photos of trash, graffiti, potholes, drug dealers or other eyesores.
• The app automatically notifies city hall.
• It keep tabs on whether the problem is ever addressed.

A tech startup called City Sourced provides a free application for iPhone’s that lets people in hundreds of U.S. cities use their Apple smart phone to snap pictures of neighborhood blight and then fire off messages to officials responsible for the fixes.

“We are all busy and there are a lot of problems we notice as we go through our days,” Kurt Daradics of City Sourced told AFP at the South By South West Interactive gathering here.

At an S.R.P. of $149.99, it’s the least-expensive of the two tabletop HD Radio system that support tagging at this time. Finally a few additional remarks:
Spirit is compatible with firmware 3.1.2, 3.1.3 and 3.2 on 5.12.01
Spirit works with all versions of iTunes nine, including the latest version 9.1.1. If you have not yet installed iTunes 9, you must do before using Spirit.
On Windows, if you get an error code c0000005, Spirit restart the application in “Windows 98 compatibility” this should solve the problem. This is done by right clicking on the file Spirit.exe then choosing “property”.
